Providence, RI: The Sun Capsule brand has a new owner, but an old management team. Sun Capsule, LLC reached terms to acquire the indoor tanning industry’s oldest domestic manufacturer. Since 1979 Sun Capsule has pioneered the growth of the Indoor Sun Tanning Industry with the most reliable Tanning Booths in the market.

At the helm will be two industry pro’s with decades of experience between them. Wayne Chevie, Sun Capsule’s President from 2003 until he and his partners sold the company in 2014, entered the tanning industry in 1984 when he opened his first Tanorama tanning salon outside of Boston. While Mike Crisel, the new VP of Operations began his career back in 1999 when he opened his first tanning salon in Cleveland Ohio. Mr. Crisel also worked for Sun Capsule from 2003 to 2013 as its Midwest sales representative.

While Mr. Chevie and Crisel have been active in marketing and re-manufacturing pre owned Sun Capsules, there primary focus will be manufacturing new Sun Capsule models and bringing back the Tanning Industry’s most successful financing program, the Flex Plan. “The Flex Leasing program is hands down the best financing solution in the industry. Nowhere else can a salon operator finance his business based on how many customers use the equipment and not there personal credit rating” said Mr. Chevie.

Sun Capsule will continue its long-standing relationship with JW Norths America and their Cosmedico division as its OEM lamp partner. Flex Lease Plan

Sun Capsule will continue to market its Sport, Eclipse and Vitesse models while working on a new Stand Up tanning system, due to hit the market later this year.
